    The terminal outside the Central Gate. Take the anti-clockwise 206, signed for Kiyomizu-dera and Gion.

    Down at Higashiyama-Yasui 東山安井

    About twenty minutes from the station, and a little longer through the spring and autumn crowds.

  3. Three
    Two minutes on foot

    South past the Yasui Konpira-gu torii, up the slope towards the pagoda, then first lane left and first lane right.

431-3 Kamibenten-cho, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto 605-0822. Drivers know it as the Higashiyama-Yasui junction; the lane itself is too narrow to enter.

    Step out at the junction and take the road running beside the kimono rental shop.

  2. Two
    Right, then left

    First lane on the right, marked by the veterinary clinic at its mouth, then the first lane on the left.

  3. Three
    Two dark wooden fronts

    BenTen West stands on the left, BenTen East beyond it. Their name plates are set beside the doors.

Despite BenTen's quiet historic setting, everyday essentials are close by, including Fresco supermarket, a 7-Eleven convenience store and a nearby pharmacy.

Higashiyama and Gion also offer excellent dining, including Hachiraku, Gion Loka and Gion Sasaki. Our Concierge can assist with recommendations and reservations.
